Answer

I welcomed the announcement by the Business Secretary last week confirming the Energy Price Guarantee will be delivered in Northern Ireland (NI), taking effect from November with support being backdated to October 1st. This will ensure NI households benefit from the same support as those in Great Britain.

Similar support for non-domestic consumers has also been announced, the detail of which is being worked through by the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy in discussion with the NI Utility Regulator.

I, and officials in my Department, have been involved in ongoing engagement with the UK Government to help ensure that Northern Ireland consumers and businesses receive the same level of support as those in Great Britain.
