To ask the Minister of Education for an update on any progress made on the new build on Mandeville Road for Portadown Integrated Nursery and Primary School.

The new build project is well advanced with the technical design (RIBA Stage 4) complete and planning approval for the project in place. Agreement in principle, has been reached with Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council regarding the purchase of the Mandeville Road, Portadown site, which is progressing through the formal conveyance process.

However, following the site acquisition the project cannot progress to the construction stage until there is sufficient capital budget availability.

I continue to make the case for increased and sustained funding for Education, to permit this and many other much needed new school build projects to proceed to construction as soon as possible.
