Answer
The Investment Strategy remains under consideration and we hope to be able to bring it to the Executive in the near future. The timeline for approval and publication of the Strategy will then be a matter for the Executive.
The draft Investment Strategy – ‘Infrastructure 2050’ – sets out our vision and strategic objectives over the next 25 years, alongside a 10-year Investment Plan.
The Strategy aims to stabilise and transform infrastructure investment in key areas such as our schools, hospitals, transport, and digital connectivity. At the same time, it will recognise the need for regional balance.
We know that, just as in other jurisdictions, major capital projects have experienced delays and overspend. This Investment Strategy also includes an Enabling Action Plan to address key barriers to delivery such as planning, procurement, and capacity.
